Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything students usually ask us before starting an online degree.

Are online degrees from these universities UGC-approved and valid?
Yes. Every university listed on DegreeNext is entitled by the UGC's Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB) to offer online degrees. These degrees carry the same recognition as regular on-campus degrees for employment, higher education, and government job eligibility, as per UGC norms.
Is DegreeNext a university, or an admission assistance platform?
DegreeNext is not a university. We are a free admission assistance platform that helps students compare UGC-entitled universities and programs, and guides them through the application process with the university of their choice.
Is the counselling and admission assistance really free?
Yes, completely free for students. There is no fee for counselling, comparing universities, or getting help with your application through DegreeNext.
How long does an online degree take to complete?
Most online undergraduate degrees (BBA, BCA, B.Com, BA) run for 3 years, and postgraduate degrees (MBA, MCA, M.Com, MA) typically run for 2 years, in line with UGC-DEB guidelines. Some universities offer accelerated options — your counsellor can confirm exact duration for each program.
What documents do I need for admission?
Generally you'll need your previous qualification mark sheets and certificates, a government photo ID, passport-size photographs, and category certificates if applicable. Exact requirements vary slightly by university — our counsellors will share the precise checklist for your chosen university.
Can I pursue an online degree while working full-time?
Yes — that's the main advantage of online and distance degree programs. Classes, study material, and exams are designed around flexible, self-paced access so you can study alongside a full-time job.
Will my online degree mention "online" or "distance" on the certificate?
UGC-DEB guidelines require the mode of learning to be mentioned on certain university records, but the degree itself is treated as equivalent to a regular degree for all academic and employment purposes. Your counsellor can clarify the exact certificate format for your chosen university.
How do I start the admission process?
Fill out the short enquiry form on this page with your preferred university and program. A DegreeNext counsellor will call you to understand your goals, shortlist suitable options, and guide you through the rest of the admission process.
